Tammy Francis teaches private lessons in both piano and theory (to all ages and levels), as well as the Music For Young Children program. Tammy has been teaching for over 25 years, and has taught students from beginners, all the way through to adults working on their pedagogy (teaching) exams. Tammy is a member of the B.C. Registered Music Teachers' Association, and the year she completed her A.R.C.T., she received the top mark in B.C. Her students have won medals for top marks in B.C., placed in provincial composition contests, and performed at the Provincial Festival.
In addition to a piano background, Tammy has a degree in Theology with a Major in Sacred Music. She has worked extensively with Children, Youth, Adult, and Senior Choirs, and has been involved in playing in bands as well. Tammy taught both piano classes and the children's music program at the Valhalla Summer School of Music for eight years, and for the past seven years has taught the summer camp program in her home studio.
Tammy's goal is to teach students to LOVE music. The study of music and an instrument requires discipline, but it can be fun and exciting at the same time.
